A 30-Minute Earring to Crochet
For the fourth piece in my 30-Minute Earrings to Crochet, I present this shells-and-crab-stitches earrings.

MATERIALS
This earrings are worked in 3 strands of ordinary sewing thread. For a complete information on the MATERIALS used to complete this project, please see the COVER HUB.
Colors: lemon yellow (2 strands), white (1 strand)
MEASUREMENTS
In essence, this motif is actually a square. But due to the pendant's weight, the length is longer than the width.
Length: 6 cm
Width: 5.5 cm

CROCHET PATTERN
//Pattern begins//
Foundation Ring: Ch 24, sl st to form ring. DO NOT TURN.
Round 1: [sc, sk 2 ch, (dc, tr, 3 dc, tr, dc) in next ch, sk 2 ch] 4x, sl st to 1st sc, sl st dc, sl st tr. TURN.
Round 2: [(2 dc, 3 tr, 2 dc) in sc, sl st (tr, 3 dc, tr)] 4x, sl st 1st dc, TURN.
Round 3: Ch 4 (equivalent to a dc and ch-1), ( sk 1 st, dc, ch 1) 3x, [(dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, (ch 1, sk 1 st, dc in next st) 4x, ch 1, sk 1 st] 3x, (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, ch 1, sk 1 st, dc, ch 1, sl st to 3rd ch of ch-4, ch 1, TURN.
Round 4: (Rsc in ch-1 sp, rsc on dc) repeat all around, sl st to 1st rsc.
Fasten off.

I have never even thought of crocheting with sewing thread, but after reading your earring hubs, I might just give it a try. I was going to ask if the thread made the earrings strong enough, but I see from your cover hub that you brush a layer of glue (?) over them.
