3D Veined Flower with Bulb Stamen - Perspective View

One morning, as I was sipping coffee from my cup, I noticed how beautiful its flower design was. It took me a while to realize that the vein made it more so. So I told myself I would make a crochet flower based on that. To make it stand out from the ones I already did, I made 7 petals (instead of my usual 5) and gave it a bulb stamen inspired by that of the Venus fly-trap flower.

Skill Level

This flower requires making dc-clusters, working multiple stitches in one stitch, color change, and the petals are worked in a specific manner to achieve the veined effect.

Complete Guide to Needlework
This is the only crochet book I have and my crochet conventions are based on what I found here. Yeah, it features a lot of other needlework art, which is great for inspiration whenever I ran out of things to crochet.

WIP (Work-in-Progress) Pictures

I began this flower and finished until the veins while at my mom's house and I had no camera then. So, I made a bulb and a bit of vein in red because I ran out of yellow and yellow green. The rest of the pictures were taken at night, thus the dull color.

Hi Irene! You can contact me by visiting my Hubpage profile. Just click on my profile picture. There's a contact button there. I can't see where your email is.

It would be great to teach you to crochet. I taught 60 grade 6 pupils back then how to crochet - boys included. It'll be nice to flex those teaching muscles again.

You can find me on FB too.
